Double-deck VIP unit on the waterfront for Reboot Productions at the Kraanconcerten in Vlaardingen
Reboot Productions requested a VIP area with a view of the stage during the Kraanconcerten in Vlaardingen. WEFOLDIT supplied a double-deck hospitality unit with a rooftop terrace made of foldable units of 6 x 2.45 m, right on the waterfront at the Westhavenplaats and built within a day.
For Reboot Productions, WEFOLDIT built a two-storey VIP unit with a roof terrace during the Kraanconcerten in Vlaardingen, right at the waterside on the Westhavenplaats. The brief: a hospitality area with an unobstructed view of the stage, on a narrow quay and without blocking the harbour. Delivered with foldable units, built within a day.
What did the client ask for?
Reboot Productions wanted a VIP area with a view of the stage from the best spot at the event. The building had to lift guests above ground level, keeping the view across the water and towards the act clear.
In addition, the structure had to fit into the existing harbour setting. The historic facades and the moored boats were not to be overshadowed by a bulky volume.
What made the task challenging?
The quay at the Westhavenplaats is narrow and borders directly on the water. Building space and supply access are limited there, and part of the quay had to remain free for the regular use of the harbour.
The combination with a festival schedule also played a role: build-up and teardown had to fit into a tight time slot around the event, with a stage, fencing and crowds in the immediate surroundings.
How did we approach it?
We opted for a two-storey set-up with a roof terrace, so that the VIP area gains in height what the quay lacks in width. The roof terrace gives guests an elevated, unobstructed view of the stage and the water.
The units are foldable: folded up, as many as ten fit on a single truck. That limits the number of transports and the time needed for delivery to a tight quay.
For access to the upper level, we placed an external staircase, so the ground floor remains usable for reception and flow. The sleek, dark volume keeps the surrounding facades and the harbour visible.
Why foldable units and not shipping containers?
A foldable unit combines a closed, finishable volume with a short build-up time. Compared to individual shipping containers, the set-up is lighter to transport and quicker to stack into a two-storey structure with a roof terrace.
For a location like the Westhavenplaats, that counts: fewer trips, less manoeuvring space needed and build-up within a day.
The result
Reboot Productions received a two-storey VIP unit at one of the best spots of the Kraanconcerten: at the waterside, with a roof terrace and an unobstructed view of the stage. The structure stood within a day and fitted into the existing harbour.

Frequently asked questions
How quickly is a two-storey VIP unit built?
A two-storey structure with a roof terrace is usually in place within a day. The exact time depends on the size and the accessibility of the location.
What are the dimensions of a foldable unit?
Each unit measures 6 x 2.45 metres. By combining and stacking units, a larger, two-storey structure with a roof terrace is created.
Can a unit be placed at the waterside?
Yes, provided the quay offers sufficient load-bearing capacity and space. On the Westhavenplaats in Vlaardingen, we placed the VIP unit right at the waterside with a view of the stage.
Can the unit be branded in our corporate identity?
Yes, all units can be fully branded in the client's corporate identity. That way, the VIP area is recognisable at the event.
